Rev Kweku Addo, a parliamentary aspirant of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), is confident of winning the Ablekuma West parliamentary primaries and wrestling the seat for the party comes 2020 general elections. “I shan’t let you down. I am optimistic of victory at the end of the primaries and to move ahead and win the seat for the NDC and to ensure John Mahama also win big in 2020. I shall continue to count on your prayers, support and counsel to make sure Ablekuma West rises again.” The parliamentary aspirant made this bold declaration on Wednesday to the teeming ecstatic crowd made up of large Dansoman residents, commercial drivers, market women, huge NDC supporters and sympathizers in the Ablekuma West Constituency in Accra who joined him to successfully file his nomination to contest the NDC primaries. Rev. Kwaku Addo, who clad in white and party paraphernalia, was beaming with visible signs of electoral victory. He fired a salvo at the super incompetent New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.’ He confidently assured the cheering crowd that he would give the MP for Ablekuma West a run for her money. Touching on the NDC constituency primaries, he entreated his supporters to avoid politics of insults and vilification and rather concentrate on his message of hope that matters to the constituents. That is what the NDC delegates would love to hear, he stressed. “I will run a neat campaign by focusing on the message and not my opponents and that’s the way to win the hearts and minds of the people, Rev. Add asserted. He thanked his supporters and the enthusiastic crowd for following him to the constituency and back to his resident. “Let me take this opportunity to thank the residents of Ablekuma West, NDC members, branch members and executives and my followers for reposing confidence in me” he stated. In an interview with the citipressonline.com, these were the beautiful comments made by some supporters of Rev. Kwaku Addo. “We are going to work hard together with the constituents to ensure we win the primaries and also win the seat back for the NDC. We have confidence in Rev. Kweku Addo because he is a visionary, credible and hardworking person. What we like most of him is that he is a good listener, caring and humble.” He will be a great political leader and we are ready to follow him with pride. The procession to file nomination begun at about 9:30am from the Dansoman Exhibition Roundabout through Gen. Acheampong High Street to the Ablekuma West NDC Office. The gentle Rev Kweku Addo charismatically led the long procession amidst drumming, singing and dancing. Business at Dansoman Markets came to stand still when almost all market women and buyers went agog upon seeing Rev Kweku Addo leading the procession. The excited women left their goods to hug the aspirant. They charged the NDC delegates to elect Rev as the parliamentary candidate so they would mobilise and campaign for him to win the seat from “a woman who has no iota of respect for women’s dignity”. Throughout the procession, there round of huge cheers from bystanders, passengers, drivers and mates. Even workers, along the highway, came out of their offices to catch a glimpse of the waiting messianic leader, Rev Kweku Addo, upon hearing his name. The citipressonline.com could hear from the passerby saying “Rev might be the glimmer of hope for the NDC and a new era for the constituency should the delegates give him the nod.”
